Life is moving on, always faster then planned. As I prepare to venture into the highschool system to do my teaching placement, I have decided to turn a new leaf artistically as well. For years now I have doodled ceaselessly during my classes, on pages, my clipboard, and the desks themselves. I jokingly self-diagnose myself with kenophobia, fear of empty space. My doodles reflect this. The project I have begun is a massive one, and has taken over a week so far, with completion to date around 13.4%.
It is more than a doodle, it is a collection of abstract and thought provoking caches of artistic expression, and hides a multitude of secrets and nuances which observers might delight for hours in discovering. I envision the finished product to resemble the art of a lunatic or schizophrenia patient, therefore it will not offend me if you think me mad.
I will begin by posting a series of minute details from the piece, in order to get a feel for how the piece is developing (through comments). It is important to understand that these snippits are by no means the polished, finished product, and they may not be clearly evident in the final, massive, product.
The last thing to mention is that the piece is being done completely using a mouse, 4 and 7 point soft round brushes, and 200% zoom. I still do not own a tablet, and only dream of what I might be capable of producing if I did have one. Any sales of the final product if it becomes available as a print will go directly into the tablet fund .
It won't be for everyone. It is abstract, and it is weird. But it is a pretty big venture, and a step in a completely new and exciting direction in my art. I won't be putting the camera down, by any means, but this is just something that I am enjoying and hope you all will as well.
